AFL Round 21 – Weekly Tip and Betting Odds
Geelong take on Carlton on Friday night, the Cats look unstoppable at the moment - and Carlton certainly are not going to stop the unstoppable. Geelong will get over the line by 39 points, even after Carlton's thrashing of Essendon last week. Saturday afternoon the inform Saints take on Richmond. Do not underestimate Richmond this week, everyone knows that in Milestone games anything can happen - and with Ben Cousins announcing his retirement this week, the Tigers could get over the line. I'm not going to tip them, but it will be the Saint's in a hard fought and close match.
Next up, the Hawks host Fremantle in another must win for both clubs. We think the Hawks will have Freo's measure in Tasmania, especially with a few big guns out for Fremantle and the inclusion of Cyril Rioli after having served his 2 week sentence. Saturday night Collingwood take on Adelaide at the MCG, this will be an absolute demolition with Adelaide winding down for the Season and Collingwood just ramping up, the pies all the way. The other match Sydney taking on the Western Bulldogs will be a better one to watch, however the Bulldogs will get over the line even up at the SCG.
AFL Round 20 – Weekly Tips and Betting Odds
The underwhelming Essendon take on the Top of the Table Collingwood in a match which will be a slaughter, our tip is Collingwood by 60 points, Saturday Carlton take on Richmond, we think Richmond can win this one and thus have tipped them. Fremantle host Sydney at Subiaco, Fremantle are tough at their home ground, even with a few big outs - Freo will win, but it will not be an easy win.
The Western Bulldogs take on Geelong in the match of the round at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night, our prediction is Geelong in a very close contest. Port Adelaide host West Coast in a match which will see Port get over the line and West Coast one step closer to the Wooden Spoon. Brisbane take on Adelaide at the GABBA which is on even money at Sportsbet at the moment, we think Adelaide are morals in this one, with Brisbane having a couple of big outs, including Forward Brendan Fevola.
AFL Round 19 – Weekly Tips and Betting Odds
Essendon take on Carlton at the MCG on Friday in a game that is sure to be exciting, the Bombers upset St Kilda last week - These 2 teams are probably the hottest and cold of the competition this year, however we think Essendon will get over the line by 15 points. North Melbourne host Fremantle at Etihad on Saturday, surprisingly North Melbourne are favourites for this one coming in at $1.87 whilst Fremantle are great value at $1.95, we think Fremantle will win this one. Sydney take on Hawthorn at the SCG, in a game which the Hawks should win pretty easily.
The match of the round, Geelong taking on Collingwood Saturday night at the MCG - Both teams are flying at the moment and this will be a massive game with a huge crowd. We think Collingwood with get over the line in brutal, physical contest at the G. West Coast also host Brisbane on Saturday night, both teams in shambles at the moment... who is the better of the 2? We think the Eagles will get over the line with the home advantage.
AFL Round 18 – Weekly Tips and Betting Odds
Essendon take on St Kilda on Friday night at Etihad Stadium, the Bombers still are not performing aswell as they would like to be, having a horror run this season and seriously putting Matthew Knight's future under the spotlight, St Kilda on the other hand are going along alright - Drawing with a very impressive Hawthorn last week in a game which they should probably not have won, they will be looking to make their way back onto the winners list with a 39 point win over Essendon.
At the MCG on Saturday we see Collingwood Taking on Carlton in a match which will not fail to impress - Carlton looks fairly impressive last week over Fremantle however won't have the juice to get over the line against the Pies, Port host Hawthorn over at AAMI stadium on Saturday where the Hawks should continue their way into the finals with a win. Sydney take on Geelong at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night, Geelong have dropped their 2nd ruckman Mark Blake in a wise decision, and brought in big forward Tom Hawkins - the swans should not hurt the cats too much, we think Geelong will get over the line.
Rounding out Saturday, Brisbane take on Melbourne at the Gabba - we think Melbourne will get over the Lion's in this one. Richmond host Adelaide at the MCG which will be a very good game, many will be picking Adelaide and they were looking a chance to finish in the top 8 before last week's loss, the Tigers played some more disappointing footy the last 2 weeks and won't be able to get over the line against the crows. The Bulldogs host North Melbourne and will be able to do away with the Kanga's pretty easily, and finishing off the round Fremantle take on West Coast in a game where we should see Fremantle back on the winners list.
AFL Round 17 – Weekly Tips and Betting Odds
Friday night football is back for another week, and yet another blockbuster is going to take place! Hawthorn take on St Kilda at Etihad Stadium in what will be an awesome week of football, we think the Hawk's form is too good in this one and they will come out close winners - 8 points the Hawks way with big Buddy back in.
On Saturday Collingwood take on the Richmond Tigers, the Tigers had another hickup in their season last week against North Melbourne going down by 50 points, the Tigers will put up a bit more of a fight this week, but the Magpies will get over the line pretty comfortably by running it out in the last quarter. Geelong take on the Lions at Skilled in which will be a one sided contest - the cats don't lose at Skilled and the Lion's don't win anywhere recently. North Melbourne take on Essendon Saturday night, the bombers are rubbish at the moment and will go down to the Kangaroos easily.
AFL Round 16 – Round Tips and Odds
Round 16 kicks off with Geelong taking on the Adelaide Crows at AAMI Stadium, Adelaide and on the up and up, however the Cats will be too strong for the Crows and should win comfortably by 42 points.
Saturday the Match of the Round takes place with Collingwood taking on St Kilda and the MCG, this will be a great match and one that is a must win for both clubs. Our tip this week is St Kilda in a close one that is sure to be exciting. Hawthorn then take on the Brisbane Lions, the Hawks lost their first match in 7 weeks against Geelong last weekend, in a heart wrenching encounter by 2 points. The Hawks should bounce back pretty easily against the Lions, the Lion's do have big forward Jonathan Brown back in, but he will need a couple of weeks to get his form back, whilst the Hawks are bolstered by Captain Sam Mitchell's return into the side.
Essendon take on the West Coast Eagles at Etihad on Saturday night, both teams are going terribly at the moment but the better outfit are the Eagles, who should get over the line. The Western Bulldogs take on Port Adelaide in which should be a pretty easy win for the bulldogs.
AFL Round 15 – Match Results
Round 15 kicked off on Friday night at AAMI stadium, intense winds hampered the game all night and finally helped Collingwood beat Port Adelaide by 26 points. The Power came out fighting and had a crack all the way until the last quarter, in a match emotionally charged by the resignation of Mark Williams as Port Adelaide coach earlier in the day, however the wind helped the Magpies kick away in the last quarter and send Mark Williams off on a low.
Moving onto Saturday, the 2008 Grand Final replay took place, and it surely did not disappoint - The Cats took on the Hawks at the MCG in one of the most intense and exciting games over of the season. The Hawks led all day to get pipped at the post by the mighty cats, going down by 2 points - Geelong ending the Hawks winning streak and grasping the competition by the throat. West Coast Hosted Adelaide at Subiaco on Saturday after and put up a good fight, the Crows managed to get over the line by 22 points in the end - hitting back at their critics and slowly hitting some winning form.
Saturday night we saw Brisbane go down to St Kilda, with the return of Nick Riewoldt helping - Riewoldt kicked only 1 goal in the Saints win, but supporters should be happy with his return and can only expect him to improve as he gets comfortable again up forward. Richmond supporters are up and about again this week with that magnificent win over the Fremantle dockers, Hardwick's boys showed guts and determination, numbers at the ball and pressure all around the ground which allows them to get over the line by 19 points, an awesome effort and their 4th win on the trot.
AFL Round 15 – Round Tips and Head-to-Head Odds
Round 15 kicks off in Adelaide when Port Adelaide take on the Collingwood Magpies, The Pies are still flying with a flogging of West Coast last weekend taking place showing that the Pies really do mean business in 2010, this should be a pretty uncompetitive game and the Pie's will come away victors by 43 points.
Moving onto Saturday the 2008 Grand Final is on again with the Cat's hosting the Hawks at Skilled Stadium, can the Hawks make it 8 in a row or will the Cat's stop them in their tracks? Our tip this week is the Cats in a very close and brutal contest, which may see a few players from each side injured for the following week - This is a must watch game! West Coast host the Crows on Saturday as well, the Crows are starting their find their feet again after absolutely demolishing Essendon last week - We this they will be too strong for the Eagles on this occasion. Saturday night Brisbane take on St Kilda in a MUST win match for the Lions, or it is season over. We don't think they are up to the talk and will go down easily against the Saints, especially with the likely inclusion of the Saints Captain Nick Riewoldt after recovering from a nasty hamstring injury sustained earlier in the season.
